Poem: A Book
A Book
There is no frigate like a book To take us lands away, Nor any coursers like a page Of prancing poetry. This traverse may the poorest take Without oppress of toll; How frugal is the chariot That bears a human soul!
I studied literature in college so I learned to love the classics early on. I am currently an active member of two in-person book clubs and one online book club. I have also been helping to run a book club for girls at my daughters school.
I love to read widely and am always willing to try a genre that I don't normally gravitate to. This is reflected on my blog, which does not have a specific genre focus.
Wonderful poem.
ReplyDeleteAah - the sweet sound of Emily Dickinson
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big poetry fan, but this poem I LOVE!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
I am glad that you all enjoyed the poem. Nice and short and about books - so I thought it would suit.
ReplyDeleteLOVE Emily Dickinson!
